This term we are learning about space and this my animation I hope you enjoy it.

Immersion

“Huston we have a problem!!!” I heard as I walked into the hall for our Immersion Assembly”. For those of you who don’t know what an Immersion Assembly is, it is an assembly where we found out what our new topic isa. This term subject is better than last term. Our new subject is called Outta This World. It is about space, planets and maybe even other creatures.

Team 1 showed the school there movie about the sun. For some reason they forgot where the sun was which is silly because its out side


As we were watching the other items I was thinking, “I wonder what Team 5 the last item was the best it was team 5s turn it was about star-wars. Mr barks character was funny obi wan Kenobi he looked funny. Princess Leia was Mr Harris and Mrs Nua was Luke skywalker Miss Tito was Han solo.

Michael Fishbach, whale researcher, is with his family on a boat. As their boat is cruising through the water, As they glided through they see a humpback whale. It had no signs of life. I wonder if it is alright. Another man on the boat had a small knife and they started cutting the net. They pulled the net up to the boat to cut it. His/her pectoral fins were pinned down by the net so was the fluke.It was hours of exhausting work.

Finally it got free it was doing amazing displays, Tail slaps, pectoral fin slaps, 40 amazing breaches and slaps.

It must have been amazing to see.

A big thanks to bucklands beach lions club for providing us with FREE BOOKS.

The first book I got is Incredible reptiles and the other one is david goes to school.

Cross country

All of the senior school walked to the point engalnd reserve. Everybody had to wait for Mr Burt. TJ and I got bored so we started playing with the grass, we were chucking it at each other, it was fun until Gabriel started putting grass down my back he was been annoying.

¨Finally¨ I said as Mr Burt had arrived to the reserve. ¨Can the the ten year olds come to the starting line please¨said one of the teachers  ¨Oh well I guess that´s me¨ I thought. We all walked up to the start line, I was thinking what place I might come.¨Take Your Mark, Get Set, GO¨ Shouted Mr Burt.

I started to sprint, as I got to the shelly path I started to think of an idea. I thought that I just might, by the slightest, get a reasonably good placing. Sadly I didn´t. The environment was clean and the air was fresh it felt nice.The track was made of dirt and sand it felt funny when you walked,ran or jogged on it it was like a special isolated island.



I started to jog when I was half way to the finish line I started getting tired so slowed down  Mohammad had sped up to me I started to sprint again. I finished. I had beaten Mohammad.I wonder what I came.

badminton

Four weeks ago room fourteen went to our first lesson of badminton.Before our lesson room 16 were there.The instructor that was teaching us how to play badminton was named Lorene.

First we had to sit down so that Lorene could tell us what her instructions were that we had to follow.After she told us her instructions were we were aloud to get a racket.I got a black red racket it looked brand new.then every one got a shuttle so we could play.Lorene asked us if we could hit the shuttle three times in the air and put the racket under your legs and bounce the shuttle without dropping it.The first few times I dropped it and then I the hang of it.

Lorene said that when she says shuttle we would have to stop.Then we were aloud to get a partner.Me and Jayden were partners.Jayden was really good at it when he closed his eyes but when I had a go with my eyes closed I was hopeless.”SHUTTLE”said Lorene every thing stopped and went quite.Oh no was this the end of the lesson was It finished how could I tell.

Immersion Assembly/ Keep your eyes on the ball.

Today, Monday 1st August 2011, Pt. England School had started their first day of school. To start the term we have an Immersion Assembly to introduce us to our topic. This term our topic is Keep Your Eye On The Ball. It is about focusing on your work but also the Rugby World Cup.

My favourite part was team four with their movie about George Nepia,a famous former All Black. It was kind of funny when Mr Somerville, playing as George, caught the ball when he was the ref. Then he got a try for nothing...I think that he just wanted to play rugby again.

I liked that Immersion Assembly because it was funny.

Skateboarding

Today professional skaters get paid to do advertisements and compete in dangerous competitions. I wonder if Tony Hawk was just a normal person that liked to skate? He must have just entered a few competitions and then won most of them that's probably why he’s rich and famous.In skateboarding today people are usually doing grinds on rails and ollies over stairs. Now people do flips turns and twists on the vert ramps. People use the urban environment to do lots of street styled tricks.

If you like loss,heartbreak and hope this will be a movie I hope you will enjoy.This movie is very sad.It is action packed and has lots of Heart Break???Loss and HOPE.This is a movie for you.

Swimming

I had a shock of cold when I hopped out of the pool because I jumped out where an open door was and the breeze glided on my wet skin.

With steady strokes I got to the other side.Gasping for breath I started kicking furiously and spray was flying so I could get to the other side to take a breath.With perseverance and determination I finally reached the end.
Now I felt like successful swimmer.

On Monday Pt.England school had an Immersion Assembly to welcome kids back from our holidays and also to introduce people to their new topic for the term.
After team 4’s performance every one was clapping as team 5 approached the stage “I wonder what team 5 performance is going to be,” I said to myself.
Team 5 started to put gardening tools onto a table. Out of the dark Mrs Nua came out and she sat on a chair. Mr Harris, Mrs Tito, Mrs Lagitupu and Mr Barks were cutting her hair with hedge clippers. She was feeling scared because she didn’t want her hair to be ruined. They also modified a hair dryer into a bigger type so it had double action. My favorite team was team 5.

The Importance of Knowing How To Swim

It is essential to learn to swim especially in New Zealand because we are surrounded by multiple number of beaches and rivers. To be a confident swimmer you need to have steady strokes and know how to roll to breath and the ability to float. It is important to have an adult with you if you're not a very confident swimmer. It is good also if you know how to swim so if another person is drowning you can save them.

Jet boat ride

Last Friday I was so excited because we were going to a jet boat ride. I went with my brother and my mum into the city. It was my brother and I who went on a jet boat ride.
Before we got to hop into we had to put on long black rain coat so we didn’t get really wet and a life jacket the life jacket was an inflatable type when you pull the tab.
We finally drove we had to drive out at 20 km because we were still by the dock and then we went at 125 km.The guy that was driving the boat was doing fast turns and water would splash all over the passengers.We went under the Harbor bridge and the driver would tell us about the stuff we went to.He took us near the Chelsea factory.
”This is fun” I yelled.

Hydroslide

Walking up the steep steps I could hear echoing voices and every body cheering with excitement.I was incautiously waiting for my turn hoping it would be soon because I was so cold.I was very close to having my turn so I started jumping up and down. Finally I had my turn, I was going down the slide like the wind.It was pitch black and I could still hear everyone cheering.Suddenly there was light so I could tell I was near the end of the slide so I put with legs up and my arms near my face.It was really fun going down the slide because all the water was splashing on me at every turn in the slide and because it was really fast.That day I had so much fun.

The Snake Assault

The snake carries the poison in a little bag they called a sack.The sack connects to the the poison then enters into the flesh with their fangs.When the fangs enter the victim’s body the poison runs down into the body.The snake then releases the fangs and maybe hurts it some more.

Once the venom enters the body the venom slowly takes over.The venom is forced into the part were the snake bites.

When the snake is finished with the thing that he’s killing he will leave also look for something to eat. Who will he/she catch next?

Rollerblading

Confidently I was gliding past people. I was a speed machine swivelling/turning/spinning
skilfully swerving.I felt the breeze flowing through my hair it felt chilly. I soared threw the cold wind.I was thirsty so I went to the tap in the bathroom I thought to my self maybe I shouldn't have drunk from that tap. I slipped over in the bathroom it was funny. I whizzed out of the bathroom into the skating rink.The manager came out and said, "Who would like to do a beginners race out of the boys," because the girls had had their turns .In the race my position was 3rd to last

On friday the 11th of february rm 14 got there netbooks.It was so exciting because I have never had my own laptop. First we had to listen to what Mrs Burt was telling us. The first step was to open the flap. .It was fun I loved it.The second step was to take the cotton wrap off and then take the chargers out of the box. We weren't allowed to open the lid. We could open our lid finally. The end.

My Holiday

In the holidays I was riding my bike with my big brother. He took me to the BMX track. When we got there we had a rest from riding 2 km.
After our rest we were racing as fast as we could, there were high jumps bumpety zig zags and wall riding parts. We did it all 10 times.
When we were leaving my tire slipped and then I fell off, my bike tumbled on top of me and pushed my leg on a sharp pole. The sharp pole stabbed into me. I didn't notice at the time and then I felt a dripping feeling I looked at my leg and it had a big hole in it. I called out to my brother I told him what happened and he called an ambulance.
